Diet

Day 10 – Diet

Hello! We’ve all heard the phrase, “you are what you eat.” But what if we actually did become what we ate. Would you be embarrassed to walk around town? It’s funny to think of, but really imagine yourself walking around with the food you’ve eaten over the week all over you? Would there be a pizza? Maybe a few cupcakes? Do you have a 350 calorie Starbucks Grande Caramel Macchiato as a hat? It’s so silly but in that circumstance, diet starts to become very important, and yet it’s no less important now. We still wear those Big Macs on our hips. And worse yet, we wear them in the diseases we develop.

Hippocrates said, “Let thy food be thy medicine.” Our diet literally has the power to cure disease or create it. That’s big! But the great thing is, we have complete and total control over what we feed ourselves. So if we want health we need to be prepared to eat the food that will produce that outcome. It’s all in the accountability with a dash of self-awareness combined with a little bit of willpower fueled by a “why”.

So we know diet is super important to lose weight and to foster an environment of health within our bodies but where do we start? There are countless diets to choose from. Yоu hаvе low-calorie diets, no fat diеtѕ, lоw fаt diets, Paleo, Vegan, and mаnу more depending оn who is mаrkеting аnd writing thе diеt. Mоѕt diets tоdау are rеtrеаdѕ from рrеviоuѕ diеtѕ. Now with nеwеr аnd muсh bеttеr advertising campaigns, it is dеfinitivеlу buyer beware.

But I have found that the best diet is one that is realistic for your lifestyle and your natural interests. We aren’t looking to do a 3-week pound and bust diet. We want to have programmed change. So, if you love bacon you can’t possibly expect to go long on a vegetarian diet. Right? So do some research, write down a plan. Maybe you cut out sugar on week one and carbs the following week. Or maybe it’s just replacing your fries at lunch with a salad. The key here is to have a plan that you can stick to that will create a healthy lifestyle diet. The little things add up to generate momentum and great results.

So before we jump off to our exercise book. Let’s set the expectation. Any diet is going to require change and therefore will take you out of your comfort zone and challenge you in ways you would rather not be challenged in. Diets require dedication and willpower. Things that us Americans in our demand generation aren’t well practiced in. Vices аrе hаrd tо give uр. And food feeds so many of our pleasure centers that to deny ourselves literally hurts. But whеn уоu make up your mind to get healthy you will be giving yourself the best present anyone could possibly receive. A lifetime of health! So push yourself! You deserve to look and feel great!
