Having the right balance of vitamins and other nutrients helps your body and mind perform at their best. It also helps you to feel your best and increases your energy. Eating healthy can often be a challenge in our busy lifestyles but it’s worth it in the end. Here are some tips to finding better eating habits:

  • Don’t try to change your diet all at once – pick habits you can manage to change right where you are and create a new habit
  • Set manageable goals that you can obtain. For instance, cut out soda week one and replace your lunch with a salad the next.
  • Create long-term goals that build upon your short time goals.
  • Find support from friends and family.
  • Their encouragement will help keep you accountable and supported as you change your lifestyle.
  • Keep your plan in perspective and don’t give up if you find yourself relapsing. Cut yourself some slack and pick back where you left off the following day.

Healthy Dinner Idea – Garlic Butter Salmon

Delicious Garlic-Butter Baked Salmon Recipe

TOTAL TIME: 45 minutes

Bake: 10 min. MAKES: 6 servings


2 whole garlic bulbs

4 teaspoons 100% Pure Olive Oil, divided

3 tablespoons butter

6 salmon fillets (6 ounces each)

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon pepper

2 to 3 tablespoons lemon juice

1 teaspoon minced fresh parsley

1/4 teaspoon minced fresh rosemary



1. Remove papery outer skin from garlic (do not peel or separate cloves). Cut top off garlic bulbs. Brush with 1 teaspoon oil. Wrap each bulb in heavy-duty foil.

2. Bake at 425° for 30-35 minutes or until softened. Cool for 10-15 minutes.

3. Squeeze softened garlic into a food processor; add butter and remaining oil. Cover and process until blended; set aside.

4. Place salmon in a greased 15-in. x 10-in. x 1-in. baking pan. Sprinkle with salt and pepper; drizzle with lemon juice. Spoon 1 tablespoon garlic butter over each fillet.

5. Bake, uncovered, at 425° for 8-10 minutes or until fish flakes easily with a fork. Sprinkle with parsley and rosemary.

More importantly, people take what they hear from the news and even what “big medicine” says at face value, believing that if the FDA has approved it, it must be safe. This is not always true. Believing this almost cost me my life, which is what led me to explore and learn naturopathic care. I have learned that with big medicine, comes big money and with big money comes lobbyists, paying government agencies to look the other way when it comes to nasty side effects, just listen to the pharmaceuticals commercials lately. They have side effects like leukemia for arthritis medicine, are you kidding me?

I have learned that the truth is, there are many natural remedies that perform as good if not better than pharmaceuticals without the nasty side effects – and natural medicine and non-traditional medicine have restored my health. I will share what I have learned on this website.
